WACO, Texas (March 16, 2023) – Baylor University’s Office of Spiritual Life, in partnership with multiple campus ministries and local churches, will again host FM72, a gathering of college students for 72 hours of continuous prayer Sunday through Wednesday, March 19-22, on Fountain Mall. In addition, each night at 8 p.m., students will gather on Fountain Mall for worship and to hear from God’s Word. Worship also will be livestreamed on the FM72 website.

WACO, Texas (Feb. 23, 2023) – Baylor University today announced a gift of approximately $6 million from the estate of Harold W. Dunn of Ballwin, Missouri, supporting the School of Music’s Center for Christian Music Studies. Dunn, an alumnus and retired elementary school music teacher, gave the entirety of his estate to the University, making the largest gift in the School of Music’s 100-year history.
WACO, Texas (Feb. 21, 2023) – Marking the anniversary of Russia's heightened aggression in Ukraine, two Ukrainian scholars will present the current situation in Ukraine and explain it from a historical perspective. The multidepartment-sponsored event will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 23, in Kayser Auditorium of Hankamer Cashion Building, 401-499 Speight Ave. The event is free and open to the public.
DALLAS and WACO, Texas – Leaders from the Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT) and Baylor University have jointly reviewed the relationship agreement between the two organizations and deemed no changes are necessary. The special agreement, initially agreed upon on November 4, 2011, calls for a joint review by the BGCT and Baylor every 10 years. The most recent review was delayed two years as both organizations managed through the COVID-19 pandemic.

The wobbegong is the common name given to the 12 species of carpet sharks in the family Orectolobidae. They are found in shallow temperate and tropical waters of the western Pacific Ocean and eastern Indian Ocean, chiefly around Australia and Indonesia, although one species (the Japanese wobbegong, Orectolobus japonicus) occurs as far north as Japan.

WACO, Texas (Jan. 9, 2023) Silicic volcanoes on the Moon, specifically the mysterious Gruithuisen Domes, are a lunar geologic mystery that still perplexes scientists more than half a century after they were discovered. Based on early telescopic and spacecraft observations, these extinct volcanoes have long been suspected to be silicic in composition, in some ways similar to terrestrial strato volcanoes like Mount St. Helens in Washington state.

Pack, Ph.D., dean of the College of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a 2005 Carnegie U.S. Professor of the Year, has been selected as dean of the Baylor School of Engineering and Computer Science. His appointment is effective June 1.
